Another mini ready to go, this is a 1990 Mini Mayfair with a 998cc engine, and very hard to find Automatic 4 speed transmission. It was imported from England many years ago, and has just received an exterior engine overhaul along with many new components. Clean AZ title with only 50,000 original miles.
This car has a very popular "Monte Carlo" style look. Finished in red gloss paint with yellow race squares, along with period as well as modern racing decals. As it was a rally car, many stickers are lifting, and exterior isn't perfect. Also included are the rally spotlamp set, as well as the roofrack with twin 12" Steel spare wheels. Riding on 12" Minilites with brand new Dunlop Tyres. To complete the rally look we also see correct rubber forward rally mudflaps, and 2" arches.
Inside we find a plush black vinyl interior set- with red felt carpeting. We have a front parcel shelf also carpeted, along with a 3 clock instrument cluster. A very nice multi-piece roll cage with side bars has been fitted, along with fire extinguisher. This style cage is very nice as it allows for the use of the rear seat still! Safety without sacrificing utility!
Powered by a very smooth running 998cc A Plus Engine, and mated up to a very nice Automatic gearbox- The latter being a very hard to find option. The engine has just been refreshed, with new paint and cleaning, as well as many new parts. The alternator has been rebuilt, new radiator, all new hoses and clamps, new valve cover seal, new high flow water pump, new bypass hose, new belt, new cap, new spark plugs, and freshly serviced with high zinc oil and new filter. Also a new complete handbrake cable has been fitted, new fuel sender, and the window regulators were just rebuilt.
This is one of the quickest 998 automatic classic minis I have ever driven. It responds well to pedal load, as well as shifts manually well. This is a great mini for someone who can't drive stick, or for someone who wants a rally look alike.
