If you are looking for an entry level classic Mini that runs and drives but don't have much to spend this could be your shot. This Japanese market Mini runs and drives but needs some love. Powered by a 998 and manual with extras like A/C and a sunroof, it is a solid shell with potential.

The exterior is generally in good shape with some mild defects in the paint. It has sustained some damage on the left side near the front of the door, however it is contained to the skin and seam lip, without having any damage to the main structure of the shell- hardly noticeable from afar. The main thing to know is that the Waybasto top is unfortunately not functioning, so it is stuck about a few inches at the rear. We advise replacing the roof panel with a solid top as they are readily available, but if you are a tinkerer you may get it working again. It is a Japanese market car so generally rust free- however all corners of the roof have bubbling oddly enough.

Inside is actually quite decent, with a nice dash, and newer Cooper seats in great shape, it cleans up nicely. Instrumentation is standard even including a tachometer. Also fitted in Rover under dash A/C for the summer months. Gauges functioning and clean carpet, just throw on a wood steering wheel and it will look fantastic!

Under the bonnet we find a completely stock engine bay. This Mini is powered by a 998cc engine with standard 4 speed manual rod change gearbox. It still has it's original intake and exhaust system, and could be improved upon rather easily with a stage 1 kit. It does fire right up however, and is eager to go with no obvious gearbox issues. The undercar components will need attention however, with tired cones, old bushings, and a bad steering rack resulting in a rough and loose ride. Brakes also will need servicing, as they work but make alot of noise, and the tires are very old as well. The engine purrs but some maintenance items and a tune up will go a long way. If you are wanting to get this work done by us, we will gladly work out a package deal, but if you wrench yourself you may be able to tackle it yourself.
